The Town of Boley received approval for $1,153,846 in funding [in 2023] from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the Town’s water and wastewater infrastructure.
The National Parks Service gave a $24,000 grant to a non-profit that plans to preserve the Farmers and Merchants Bank, but it was also a home to the consolidated First National Bank of Boley, which is believed to the be the first nationally chartered black owned bank in the country.
In partnership with the Smithsonian Institution, Oklahoma Humanities the Town of Boley was selected for one of six rural Oklahoma communities to host the traveling exhibit "Crossroads: Change in Rural America," as part of the Museum on Main Street program.
